The warm clear waters just outside the Gold Coast Seaway are a great place to start your freediving journey. Just 10 minutes on the boat from the marina, it’s the perfect place to get comfortable with the basics of Freediving and complete your Level 1 Freediving course.

The Scottish Prince Wreck

As you get more confident The Scottish Prince Wreck is a great place to Freedive, we often visit the wreck after the course requirements are complete. This shipwreck is located in 12 metres of water, so it’s perfect now that you are comfortable with Freediving at deeper depths. There is also plenty of marine life to be seen around the wreck including corals, large schools of fish and wobbegong sharks.

Cook Island is a beautiful location with turquoise waters and an abundance of marine life. It’s located just off the coast of Tweed Heads and is only a short boat ride away. Freediving here is suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced freedivers.

Kirra Reef

Kirra Reef is one of the most popular Gold Coast freediving locations, and for good reason. Only a 10 minute swim from the shore of Coolangatta you will be diving with an abundance of marine life, from nudibranchs to wobbegong sharks. It’s a Freedivers paradise close to shore – just don’t forget to check the swell!

Palmy Reef

Palmy Reef is another great Gold Coast freediving spot, it’s located just north of Kirra Reef. The reef has beautiful corals and a variety of marine life including turtles, rays and barracuda.
